Artist Steve Penley is recognized nationally for his interpretations of American heroes, icons and institutions. In Macon, Georgia: Cradle of American Music, Penley took on Georgia musicians with a connection to Macon, a city that can claim having launched the careers of Little Richard, Otis Redding and James Brown as well as hosting the Allman Brothers Band and the many Southern Rock artists associated with Capricorn Records. I was responsible for arranging transport, insurance and documentation of paintings during the run of the exhibit at the museum, as well as for hanging the exhibit.
