Gatheround: Stories of Atlanta @ the Atlanta History Center

Atlanta History Center’s new cornerstone exhibition interpreting the history of Atlanta is rooted in the past, but also is being created to capture Atlanta’s stories of the present, and to engage visitors to consider the city’s path to the future. Through artifacts, ephemera, interactive media, recording booths, immersive experiences and dedicated spaces setting the stage for Meet the Past museum theatre performances, this exhibition shares the stories of individuals of many different backgrounds and perspectives who helped create the Atlanta we know today. It also will examine how the metro area has been shaped by watershed political events and exceptional leaders. It will cover broad themes including Politics and Policy; Cultural Life; Family and Community; and Urban Growth and Change.

Personal exhibition responsibilities included artifact installation, conservation assessment, textile preparation, mount making, object acquisition, reproduction management, archival sourcing and text editing.
